I really like the feeling this conveys, for some reason I feel extremely nostalgic. I believe your choice of colors and light source is a great part of that.

I think the composition is well pulled off, with the girl counter balancing with the duck, perhaps the duck should be just a bit closer to the edge so that empty space on the right could be filled.

As for shading and actual technique, this could use some polishing. The shadows are too rough and some of the colors/shading are smudged and/or dirty, mixing greens with oranges and yellows in a way that's a bit too drastic.

That's mostly what this piece requires, more work, more polishing, some extra care with the softness and shading/blending... That can really take this to the next level.
